House Rules
No Smoking and no Pets without owners permission. If you park on the street longer than 24 hours, you could get booted and towed, it’s a real thing. Use the Garage and driveway. Let us know if you plan to bring a trailer and we can talk about parking on the gravel or mulch if needed. Please shut Garage door when not in use.
There is no AC, the fans in each room keep the house cool enough. Turn down the heat to 68 when you leave, and make sure the gas fireplace is off. Leave kitchen items as you find them.
Let owners know if something is broken or needs attention. Use two hands to pull blinds up and down. Pillows behind the couch are for chairs outside, they may blow around when the wind picks up. The trash can next to the counter has extra bags in the pantry. The blue recycle bin in panty is for aluminum, glass and paper. There are two large trash bins outside the garage, one is for trash, and the other recycling. Put out Thursday morning if you are occupying the house on that day of the week.
Cleaning – To avoid $150 cleaning fee, ensure sheets, bathrobes and towels are washed and dried, turn on dishwasher when you leave. Use the speed cycle for faster washing.Stack chairs and footstools so they don’t blow away. Sweep the floor, vacuum as needed. Cleaning supplies are under the sink in the kitchen, hall closet and closet in the laundry room. Clean bathrooms too, and take out all the trash and recycling.
Use of Garage and toys – Use at your own risk and plan to replace if something happens
Bikes – Have fun with the 5 bikes (3 mtn Bikes and two Hybrids). If you are going anywhere where they will be unattended, Glenwood springs for example, please take a Lock and use it.
Kayaks – Adjust the food pedals by pulling up, or squeezing the black levers behind the pedal to push away. Having your knees up and wider will add stability. The plugs should stay in and are located at the back of the craft. Leave one extra half paddle and foam in each craft as a safety precaution. Put Kayaks back facing each other one seat up, one down, they will be tight, still put a bungee across them. If super muddy or dirty after use, please rinse off with hose on either side of the house. Use a life vest if you feel like you need one, there are 3 in the garage, one is red and the two are camouflage, so look hard for them. Ha Ha….
Tubes, floating dock, cooler, water guns and paddle board should only be used if you are staying with owners, otherwise, bring your own or use a local tubing company – Turtle Tubing approx $65 pp. If you are floating the river, you can put in at Dotsero landing and float to the house getting out of the river at a small dirt ramp next to our house. This would be just past the jet skis, and would take about 20 – 30 mins. For a longer float, leave a car at Bair Ranch parking area about 10 mins towards Glenwood Springs. Getting into the river at the back of the house using the dirt ramp on the left (West trail) and taking out at Bair Ranch is about a 2 hr float trip. If you only have one car, you could take a bike to get back to the car at Dotsero Landing. Right side of the river is the take out for both float trips, plan to paddle to get to the side of the river. If you drop off a car at Bair ranch, you could bike back to the house using the Glenwood canyon trail accessible from frontage road across the hwy. Leave towels in the car or at the house, do not take them on floatation devices down the river.
Please do not use any fishing poles or accessories or tools, bring your own! You do not need a fishing License for HOA Lakes but do for the River and other public lakes.
